#endhumantraffickingnow

In light of the Wayfair scandal a few weeks ago, I shared two posts about human trafficking.
I'd like to share those posts here as my views on the matter have not changed and I'd like to acknowledge the information given in my second post. I was going to publish this last week, but I wanted to wait until today because tomorrow is world day against trafficking.

| period. —————————————————————— it’s happening, it’s real and it’s uncomfortable. —————————————————————— when I first read about the Wayfair scandal this weekend — I immediately thought conspiracy theory because that’s what we do when things are super uncomfortable. all the fact checkers said false, so sigh of relief and we move on to the next thing, right? —————————————————————— no. we should be outraged. a fact checker tooting false several hours after the accusation went viral over something that would need to be investigated is suspicious — sorry if that burst your bubble. just because Wayfair came out quickly and said it’s not true doesn’t mean we stop looking into it. that shouldn’t be enough for us. we should be demanding for more. —————————————————————— I AM NOT SAYING THEY ARE GUILTY. I am also not saying they’re innocent. I’m saying that claims like this should be FULLY investigated. because that’s how we let the exploiters know we are serious about shutting them down. child trafficking is not a joke. they should know we are coming for them. that we do not take pedophilia lightly. that we will never tolerate + accept the exploitation of children, women, and our fellow humans. —————————————————————— what we know is that people prey on children and some people make it their business to exploit them. we can not turn a blind eye to this any longer. demand justice for all. —————————————————————— #savethechildren — all them.
